A picture is worth a thousand words—but how many words will it take to convince your friends?. Dixit is the award-winning game of creative guesswork, where your imagination unlocks the tale. This wonderfully simple game, with its gorgeous, dreamlike artwork, is a modern classic that brings people together for a journey of whimsical storytelling.
In Dixit, players take turns as the storyteller:
- The storyteller secretly chooses a card from their hand and creates a clue based on its unique image—it can be a single word, a phrase, a song, or a sound.
- Other players then select a card from their own hand that they feel best matches the storyteller’s clue.
- All the selected cards are shuffled and revealed. Players secretly vote on which card they think is the storyteller’s original card.
- The goal? For the storyteller, it’s to create a clue that is just cryptic enough that some players guess correctly, but not so obvious that everyone does. For the others, it’s a mix of clever bluffing and insightful guessing.
