Tips for your first board game night with Goose Games
🕕Arrive early
Game night kicks off at 6pm. Getting there early means first pick of tables and games, plus time to grab food and a drink before things get busy — or just chat with hosts Jake and Sean. You’ll also have a better shot at jumping straight into our weekly featured game, or time to browse our game library. But don’t stress if you can’t make it right at the start. Plenty of players trickle in throughout the night, and others wrap up a game and are ready to jump into something new. Plus, we usually run our featured games several times a night.
👋 Say ‘Hi’ to a stranger
Everyone was new once! Our regulars are genuinely friendly, so introduce yourself and be open to learning a new game. Playing together is one of the best ways to meet people — plenty of regulars started out as solo visitors and left with a whole new friend group. To help you connect, grab a name badge at the door.
🎲 Start with a quick game
Wavelength, Codenames, Mondrian, or Shifting Stones are great entry points that are short, social, and easy to pick up. No need to commit to a 3-hour epic on night one. Jake and Sean explain every game before you play. That’s literally their thing. Whether it’s your first game night ever or your hundredth, you’re welcome here.

Need a rules clarification, a game suggestion, or want to know more about the games in our library? Your hosts Jake & Sean read the rules so you don’t have to. Go ahead and give a wave or call us over and we’re happy to help.
🪿Get your raffle tickets
Earn raffle tickets for our weekly drawings by wearing a name badge, playing our featured games, or winning a game. We regularly give away food gift certificates, Goose Games merch, and other surprises. Every weekly ticket also enters you into the monthly game giveaway. Check with your host to make sure you’re collecting yours!

It’s a great way to chat with other players, suggest games, ask questions, or show off your Goose Games victories.
